Our policy

Questions arise at this time of year regarding: rainouts, sickness, school holidays, and fifth weeks of the month.

 

We have based our PERK Club fees on providing four classes per month. Often there will be five Mondays and/or Tuesdays…during a particular month. This may happen as many as five or six times a year. If we have already taught your child’s class four times that month, we will use that fifth week to teach any make-up class that may be due to the school. The children of course do not understand this, and often when asked by parents if they had PERK that day will say, “No” or “They didn’t come.” We hope we have cleared this matter up, so you will not think we are not showing up!

 

Some of our schools do not have any extra space to provide us a room to teach in on rainy days. At these schools, we will schedule a make-up day. When the make-up is arranged, we will post a sign informing you of the date. If your child does not regularly attend school on the day of the make-up, please notify us and we will issue a credit on your dues. If we are unable to schedule a make-up, extra time may be added to the existing classes or credit will be given to you on the following month’s dues.

 

If your child is absent, credit will not be given. Vacation credit can be given for vacations extending over one week if you notify us. Credit can be given if your child has a prolonged illness lasting over two weeks, if we are notified. 

 

When a PERK Club instructor is ill or on vacation, a make-up or credit will be given.  Make-ups will be given for most major holidays. Make-ups will not be given for the following holiday: President’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
